Marc Chagall original lithograph on paper.  The work is unsigned and unnumbered, as issued.  It is framed in a beautiful gilded wooden frame.  From the volume, Chagall Lithographes. I. Vol 1: 1922-1957, Published Andre Sauret Monte Carlo, 1960 and printed by Mourlot, Paris.  Provenance on the back of the work indicates that is was purchased at Galerie Moderne at Brentano's.

Marc Chagall was a Russian-Jewish painter who is recognized as one of the most significant painters and graphic artists of his time. Chagall painted in a style all his own, combining elements of Expressionism, Symbolism, Cubism and, to a lesser degree, other Modernist art movements. His works combine recollection with folklore and fantasy. A prolific and multi-faceted artist, Chagall is one of the foremost artists of the 20th Century. One of a kind.
