One of our favorite vintage quilts- The Bowmansville Star Quilt is a traditional hand made quilt, made with a variety of cotton fabrics. This pattern originated in the small town of Bowmansville, Pennsylvania. The pattern is known for its vivid design, which features postage stamp-sized pieces of printed cotton fabric that are arranged to create a bold star pattern. The style of quilting is made by blocks of 72 small triangles hand-quilted together across 24 individual squares. The palette is made up of bold earthy colors of navy, black, sleight grey, pink and fuchsia mixed with natural tones of Navy and Vermillion on an elegant foundation featuring a micro diamond ditsy pattern in tones of fuchsia, blue and black. The quilt is estimated to be from the 1890s. One of a kind.
