Shimenawa Kyoto Wreath, Bell
Considerations:
✓ Handcrafted
✓ One of our favorites
Our Shimenawa Kyoto Wreath is handwoven out of rice straw and adorned with dried and painted botanicals and a ceramic bell in Kyoto, Japan. The straw itself is considered sacred, as it has protected and nurtured the agrarian people, whose lives depended on the growth and cultivation of rice. In Japan, there is an ancient culture of making Shimenawa to welcome Shinto deities. If left outside in the elements, the wreath will age beautifully, silvering into a lovely patina. The wreath is perfect for year round use on a front door or inside as a statement on your mantle.
