Mother Daughter Quilt, Album
Considerations:
✓ Handcrafted
✓ Environmentally Conscious
✓ Slow Roads Studio
Our latest Slow Roads quilt collection, The Mother Daughter Quilts, was inspired by one of our favorite vintage pieces. A mother created half of a quilt, which was left unfinished until her daughter completed it decades later. The quilt is a coming together of two sides. It represents the connection of the two women and their love for each other.
We have collected unique unfinished quilts, that we send to expert crafts people at a workshop in Jaipur, India. Using custom indigo block prints on linen, they create the backs of the quilts, which are then finished using hand tied knots in coordinating colors.
The workshop specializes in high-quality textile handiwork and is women-owned and operated. The workshop also supports women artisans and handicraft traditions throughout Rajasthan. They pay their female workers fair wages, allowing them to manage household expenses. Each piece is one of a kind.
