Mulberry Kantha Quilt
Considerations:
✓ Vintage
✓ One of a kind
✓ Handcrafted
The Mulberry Kantha Throw is one of our favorite Autumn accents. Kantha cloth are a traditional Indian craft created by up-cycling fabrics over generations. The cloth is created by patching and mending layers of handwoven antique and vintage textile remnants. We think of kantha as a conversation, a beautiful work of art created with time. Due to the nature of these traditional textiles, there may be areas with wear, staining, and holes. Each layer of kantha has a beautiful history, fabrics may be block printed, embroidered or embellished. To unify the layers, kanthas are over dyed, brining a harmony to the varying fabrics below. Kanthas are then hand stitched to reinforce the layers. Overtime the quilt will wear, revealing layers of fabrics below. When you order the mulberry color way, the kantha pattern will be different than the throw pictured but the color will be a range of mulberry. We recommend using as a throw on the sofa or an accent on the end of a bed. One of a kind.
