The Story Ottomans are a recent collaboration with a skilled furniture maker in Texas, crafted using vintage 1960s Turkish handwoven angora mohair Siirt textiles. Traditionally used as blankets or rugs, these tightly loomed fabrics were often woven at home and sometimes feature family names with deep cultural significance. Names are commonly inspired by nature or trades—such as Kaya (rock), Cansu (life water), or Nacar (carpenter). Each ottoman is truly one-of-a-kind, with variations in pattern, color, and text placement. Please note that not all ottomans include text. For durability, the Siirt fabric is upholstered inside-out, so when text is present it will appear reversed.

Origin: Texas, US

Manufacturing: Handwoven, Handcrafted

Material: Angora Mohair, Solid wood frame

Color: When selecting Spice, Umber, or Natural, keep in mind that each ottoman is upholstered with unbleached, undyed natural Angora Mohair Siirt blankets. Because of this, color tones and shades vary. If ordering multiple pieces in the same color, subtle differences between each ottoman should be expected.

Text: Because every ottoman is made from one-of-a-kind vintage textiles, sourcing Siirt fabrics with text is dependent on availability at the time of production. Text can be requested, but cannot be guaranteed. When present, text typically appears on one to three panels (including the top), though some pieces may feature more or fewer panels. If you have specific preferences or would like to confirm current availability, please reach out to CustomerService@Slow-Roads.com—our team is always happy to help.

Condition: Excellent. New. Wear and inconsistencies are unique to the original item.

Dimensions: 18.00" Sq

Lead Time: Standard ottomans take 4-6 weeks, select colors may be in-stock and ship sooner.
