Ukulele Folk Art
Considerations:
✓ Handcrafted
✓ Vintage
✓ One of a kind
This early 20th-century American folk art–style ukulele is constructed from a "Porto Rico" cigar box and appears to be made of oak. Vintage "Porto Rico" (often spelled with an 'o' historically) cigar boxes, particularly those from the early 1900s by manufacturers like the Porto Rican American Tobacco Co., are used in a variety of folk art and also collectable on their own. The piece retains its original surface with an aged patina and a mellow oak tone. Four-string design and simple construction reflect its folk art origins. Suitable for display or use. Vintage, circa 1900s. One of a kind.
