The Wood Fire Cups are a collaboration produced with Oregon base ceramicist, Nicole Hummel. We worked with Hummel to create a collection of one of a kind cups. The collection was inspired by nature, using time-honored techniques. Hummel hand threw the cups, using iron rich earthenware, and then fired them in a traditional wood burning Anagama Kiln. The cups are glazed with a wabi-sabi Shino to highlight natural occurrences. Due to the nature of the process, the collection is a limited edition. Wood firings are done only a few times a year in Oregon to protect the land from wildfires.
