Loon Lake, Overshot Coverlet

$1,250.00

Considerations:

✓ Handcrafted

✓ Vintage

✓ One of a kind

We love an Overshot Coverlet, and this one might be our all time favorite.  The modern checkerboard pattern is something we've never seen.  The weave is incredibly dense, and the pattern is tighter than what we typically find.  These time-honored designs are a historical Americana pattern traditional woven by female weavers in the early 19th Century. Each coverlet is one of a kind, and were traditionally woven with red, white and blue color ways. The coverlets were woven on home looms, and constructed with two panels, stitched together, creating a center seam. We've collected these textiles from Antique Fairs and from textile dealers. We recommend using as a layer on the bed or styled at the end of the bed or on a sofa. Due to the age and use of the textile areas may show wear and imperfections. One of a kind.
