Loon Lake, Overshot Coverlet
Considerations:
✓ Handcrafted
✓ Vintage
✓ One of a kind
The modern checkerboard pattern on our Loon Lake Overshot Coverlet is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. The dense weave with tighter details sets it apart from traditional designs. These time-honored patterns trace back to 19th-century Americana, originally woven by female artisans using home looms in the traditional color palette of red, white, and blue.
We’ve sourced these from antique fairs and textile dealers, where the craftsmanship and age bring a rich character to each piece. The coverlets were woven in two panels, stitched together to create a center seam, and given their age and history, some areas may show wear or imperfections. We like them layered on a bed or folded over a sofa for an easy, collected look.
