Appalachian Mountains Log Cabin Quilt
Considerations:
✓ Vintage
✓ Handcrafted
✓ Made in the USA
One of our favorite vintage quilts we've found so far. The Appalachian Mountains Log Cabin Quilt is a traditional hand made quilt, made with a variety of cotton and wool fabrics. The design features a sophisticated arrangement of patterned period fabrics in the traditional Log Cabin style made popular in 1863, to help raise funds for the Union Army during the American Civil War. It was thought to be in honor of Abraham Lincoln, who grew up in a log cabin. The palette is made up for rich earthy colors range from soft rust red, ochre, plum, indigo, and slate blue mixed with black, midnight blue, ecru and white. Due to the intricate double sided design the quilt is heavy in weight. One of a kind.
