Black Mountain Primitive Coverlet
Considerations:
✓ Handcrafted
✓ Vintage
✓ One of a kind
One of our favorite handwoven coverlets. These time-honored designs are traditional woven by female weavers in the early 19th Century. Each coverlet is one of a kind, and were traditionally woven with red, white and blue color ways. However, this incredible piece was woven with forest green, grass green, ecru and fire red. The elongated plaid pattern has a subtle monochromatic check board pattern woven in the background. The coverlets were woven on home looms, and constructed with two panels, stitched together, creating a center seam. We've collected these textiles from Antique Fairs and from textile dealers. We recommend using as a layer on the bed or styled at the end of the bed or on a sofa. Due to the age and use of the textile areas may show wear and imperfections. One of a kind.
