The delicate and beautiful designs found on vintage Japanese Katagami pieces showcase the intricate paper-cutting technique used by highly trained craftspeople. These pieces are traditionally used in the dyeing of cloth, specifically long bolts of cotton, silk, or other fabrics used for Japanese kimono garments. Our vintage Katagami pieces are framed with a walnut frame on an off-white paper mat. One of a kind.
