The Forest Oak Log Cabin Quilt is a traditional hand made quilt, made with a variety of cotton fabrics. The design features an elegant arrangement of patterned period fabrics in the traditional Log Cabin style made popular in 1863, to help raise funds for the Union Army during the American Civil War. It was thought to be in honor of Abraham Lincoln, who grew up in a log cabin. The palette on the front of the quilt is made up of earthy colors of forest green, rust red and shades of ecru grey, brown and black on an modern foundation of olive green. The palette on the back of the quilt is hunter green in a ditsy print of branches with a trim of ditsy acorns. The quilt is a new reproduction piece. One of a kind.
