The Mountain Forest Center Square Quilt is a traditional hand made quilt, made with a variety of cotton and flannel fabrics. The design features a strong arrangement of plaid fabrics in the traditional Center Square and Bars style, this style is one the earliest Amish quilt designs. The design features a very simply layout, with a strong central focus—a design thought to be inspired by central-medallion quilts popular during the early nineteenth century. The quilt is hand stitched with the back and binding fabric made of homespun fabrics. The palette is made up of bold earthy colors of deep red, hunter green and black. The quilt has incredible back composed of mix and match plaids in natural hues of ecru, black, gold and burnt sienna. The quilt is estimated to be from the 1910s. One of a kind.
