The Story Ottomans are one of our latest designs in collaboration with a furniture craftsman from Texas. The ottomans are made using vintage Turkish handwoven angora mohair Siirt from the 1960s. Siirt are traditional tightly hand loomed textiles that functioned as both blankets and rugs. The textiles are traditionally woven at home and depict family names. Turkish family names are grounded in meaning and linage, typically inspired by nature or profession, such as Kaya meaning rock, Cansu meaning Life Water or Nacar meaning carpenter.  Each ottoman is one of a kind. Names and placement of text will range. Siirt are upholstered backwards for durability and longevity. One of a kind.
