The Sunray Fields & Furrows Quilt is a traditional hand made quilt, made with a variety of cotton and linen fabrics. The design features a playful arrangement of patterned period fabrics in the fields and furrows style made popular in 1800s. The fields and furrows style an iconic quilt design due to its contrasting diagonal pattern and is a variation of the log cabin quilt design. The colors feature a high contrast earthy palette of black, forest green and navy paired with ecru, rose pink, peach and brown with an accent of fire red. The quilt has a handwoven backing with a traditional ecru and red pattern. The quilt is estimated to be from the 1860s to 1880s. One of a kind.
