The “Corinthian Column” is a sgraffito or etched drawing, in which ink is applied to the surface, and then removed with a form of etching. Simple tools and techniques were used to highlight the details of the drawing which depicts an ancient Greek column. Straight, even lines were used to depict the grooves of the column, while lighter, delicate scratches were applied to illustrate the intricate designs at the top. This method effectively showcased the beauty and detail of the ancient column. One of a kind.
