Sonata is hand-knotted from hand-spun Afghan wool, where natural variation in the fiber causes the pattern to shift in and out of focus across the surface. The open knot structure, at 14 knots per square inch, creates a softer, more relaxed composition with visible depth and texture. The rug measures approximately 9/32” in height and is finished with cotton fringe.

We have partnered with Armadillo, an Australian rug company, to bring our favorite designs from their collection to the Shop. Armadillo is dedicated to traditional handwoven techniques and partners with 1500 artisans in India to produce their quality rugs. The brand shares our values of using ethical and sustainable materials, and they are the only rug company in the US and Australia with B Corp status for their social and environmental practices. The collection features earthy colors, intricate weaves, and eco-friendly materials sourced through fair trade practices.
