Watercolor painting by American artist, Lester Johnson.  Expressive brushstrokes of grassy greens depict an abstract expressionist landscape scene.  Large and impactful, a great piece.  

A member of the New York School of painting, Lester Johnson studied abstract and figurative expressionism. He is know for portraits of people from his surroundings; 1950s and 60s Lower East Side and Bowery neighborhoods. His work belongs in the collections of the MoMa, Met, Whitney, Guggenheim, etc.
