Antique Japanese Suzu Shrine Bells
Considerations:
✓ Handcrafted
✓ Vintage
✓ One of a kind
These heavy bronze bells were originally used in Shinto shrines, where they were hung in the center of the worship hall and rung by worshipers using hemp ropes and colored cloths as part of ritual practices. Each bell is engraved with the Aoi Mon (Hollyhock Crest), the family emblem of the Tokugawa clan, which ruled Japan during the Edo Shogunate for over 250 years. Both bells are substantial in weight and preserve their historical patina. One of a kind.
