Kasuri Ikat Cloth
Considerations:
✓ Vintage
✓ One of a kind
✓ Handcrafted
This vintage kasuri ikat textile dates to the late 19th century and is constructed in a patchwork style from multiple fabric sections, measuring four and a half panels wide. The fibers are resist-dyed with indigo before weaving, a process that binds the yarns to create patterned designs. Because the dyed threads are woven by hand, the resulting motifs carry a softly blurred effect characteristic of ikat textiles. The palette ranges through shades of indigo. One of a kind.
