Mino Raincoat, Twenty

Each Mino Raincoat is a remarkable piece of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Traditionally handmade during the Showa Period, these coats were woven from rice straw, often incorporating linden bark and natural dyes. These natural materials were valued for their water-repellent qualities and used by rural farmers throughout East Asia.

Functional in their time and beautifully sculptural today, each one-of-a-kind coat carries the character of an everyday object shaped by hand, use, and time. This example was likely produced in the 1930s. One-of-a-Kind.
