This Indigo Kantha Quilt was designed by Slow Roads Studio and handcrafted in a family-owned artisan workshop in India using traditional Kantha stitching techniques. Layers of one-of-a-kind vintage cotton textiles are hand-stitched together before being overdyed in two shades of natural indigo, creating a lightweight, exceptionally soft quilt with rich texture and depth.
Each quilt features unique patchwork, embroidery, mending, and subtle color variation, reflecting the history of the reclaimed fabrics. Over time, the indigo will soften and fade, gradually revealing the layers, patterns, and colors beneath. Gentle imperfections and signs of age are part of each quilt’s character. Please note that the images represent the overall style and color palette, but every quilt is unique. Crafted in partnership with a workshop that supports women artisans through fair wages and financial independence. One of a kind.

Note: Our Indigo Kantha Quilts are overdyed using natural indigo and have been tested for both wet and dry rubbing, achieving color-fastness results in the safe range. While suitable for use on white bedding in dry conditions, we recommend washing separately or with like colors, especially during the first few washes. The indigo will soften and fade beautifully over time, developing a rich patina through use, laundering, and sun exposure. Crafted from layers of vintage textiles, each quilt continues to evolve as it ages—revealing hidden colors, patterns, and fabric layers beneath the surface. No two Kanthas are exactly alike, making every quilt a unique piece with its own story to tell.
Condition: Excellent. Any wear or inconsistencies are unique to the original item. Due to the nature of the vintage fabrics used, some areas may show signs of wear. Each quilt is one-of-a-kind, and exact colors, patterns, and fabrics will vary from piece to piece. Photos are representative of color ways only.
