The Double Four Patch Quilt, estimated to date from the 1840s, is a traditional handmade textile constructed from a variety of vintage cotton fabrics. It is hand pieced and hand quilted, assembled from earlier textiles that carry subtle variation in tone and weave. The front presents a palette of earthy pastel pink, navy, and warm sand set against a deep grass-green ground, creating a quiet grid of color and contrast. The reverse is finished in solid vintage white cotton, framed by a soft pastel pink border, offering a lighter, more restrained counterpoint to the patterned front. One of a kind.
