Antique Chinese Wall Hanging Rug

This antique Chinese pictorial wall hanging rug features a central flowering urn or vessel rendered in red, cream, and muted gold against a deep brown field. Architectural and symbolic motifs surround the central composition. The compact format is well suited for display above a console, bed, mantel, or alongside a collection of Asian antiques. The flat, looped surface is closer to a woven or needlepoint-style textile than a traditional deep-pile rug.
