This elegant Antique Kagami Bronze Gazing Mirror from the early 1800s Japan is an incredible piece of history. Adorned with intricate castings of Tsuru birds (Cranes), Kame (Turtles), bamboo and Momiji (Maple) trees and waves, it features a Japanese proverb inscription "I believe that the profit and loss of the past will come." Though time the piece has oxidized and patinated loosing its high polish reflection, however its expert craftsmanship of lost wax bronze casting remains. The mirror comes with its original wooden box made from traditional Japanese joinery. One of a kInd.
