Bronze Sol Bowl
Considerations:
✓ Handcrafted
✓ Slow Roads Studio Design
A Slow Roads design. The Sun Bowl began with a sculptural ceramic bowl from the 1970s, which we reimagined in solid bronze using the traditional lost-wax casting process. Substantial in weight and presence, the original form takes on a new permanence and character in metal.
Each bowl is individually cast and hand-finished, resulting in natural variations in tone, texture, and patina. No two finishes will be exactly alike, giving every piece a truly one-of-a-kind character.
The unlacquered bronze is a living finish designed to evolve with time, gradually darkening and changing in response to handling and its environment. Tarnishing, tonal variation, and the marks of age are an intentional part of the piece.
Designed for use indoors or out, the Sun Bowl can stand alone as a sculptural object or serve as a catchall for the everyday. When used outdoors, exposure to moisture and the elements will accelerate the natural aging process, and the bronze may eventually develop areas of verdigris.
