Japanese Cotton Sarasa Textile

This vintage Japanese cotton Sarasa textile features a richly layered composition of paisley, floral, and geometric motifs across a two-panel ground of saffron amber and deep midnight black. Hand-dyed using traditional textile techniques, the cloth displays subtle variations in pattern and tone that reflect its handmade character. An original maker’s stamp, marked “No. 4055 P,” remains on the textile. A small hole is present consistent with age; please see photos for condition details. Display as wall art, drape over furniture, or incorporate into a textile collection. One of a kind.
