Mogensen Spoke-Back Sofa

Designed by Børge Mogensen in 1945 as his proposal for the "furniture type of the future," the Spoke-Back Sofa combines daybed and chaise lounge functionality with a hinged reclining side. Crafted from solid wood with jute webbing support and leather strap adjustments, each piece is made to order in Denmark by Fredericia, who has maintained production of these original designs using traditional Danish methods since their creation.

Upholstery options include Cotil 863 Wool, a Danish wool-cotton blend designed by Børge Mogensen and Lis Ahlmann. Originally made for military horse rugs at the Royal Military Clothing Factory, this durable checkered fabric was adapted in the 1970s for furniture and has since become a classic in Danish design.
