Sekimori Ishi Stones

Hand-knotted in the tradition of Japanese tea gardens, Sekimori Ishi stones were traditionally placed along garden paths to quietly guide guests during tea ceremonies. Also known as tome-ishi, or “stop stones,” each natural stone is wrapped and knotted by hand in rope according to an ancient tradition.

Each stone is naturally unique in shape, color, and texture. Traditionally used outdoors, we recommend displaying them indoors as sculptural objects on a shelf, mantel, entryway, or special corner of the home. One-of-a-Kind. Sold Individually.
