Our Shimenawa Kyoto Wreath is handwoven from sacred rice straw in Kyoto, Japan, a material that has long protected and nurtured the agrarian communities whose lives have been intertwined with rice cultivation. In Japan, Shimenawa wreaths have an ancient tradition of welcoming Shinto deities.
Over time, if left outdoors, the wreath will naturally age, developing a beautiful silver patina. Ideal for year-round display, it makes a stunning statement both on your front door or on a mantle.
