Golden Rod Quilt

Handmade cotton quilt featuring a repeating X-in-square block pattern, a design that gained popularity in mid-19th century American quilting. Each block combines contrasting patterned fabrics, often with a central square, arranged across a foundation of honey-colored cotton. Backed in white cotton.

Constructed in the 1870s, the quilt shows areas of wear consistent with age, including thinning in high-use sections, reflecting its functional history. One of a kind.
