Swedish Neighborhood Landscape, Oil Painting

This vintage Swedish landscape by Sune Blomqvist (1919–1989) depicts a sweeping view of mountains and countryside, rendered in the loose, painterly style associated with his lyrical landscapes. Deep greens, dusty blues, and a warm cream sky create a soft, moody mid-century palette across the composition. Blomqvist studied at Isaac Grünewald’s painting school in the mid-1940s and developed a body of work centered on lyrical landscape painting. Signed lower right, the work is presented in its original vintage wood frame with a gilt inner liner. The frame shows minor age-related wear consistent with its vintage character. One of a kind.
