Calm Harbor, Watercolor

This antique watercolor on paper depicts a quiet coastal harbor, with a fleet of sailboats gathered near the shoreline, their sails raised against a hazy sky. The rocky, sandy foreground is punctuated by a wind-bent tree, while low, tree-lined hills frame the harbor in the distance. Loose, impressionistic brushwork and a muted palette of soft cream, pale gold, and blue-grey lend the scene an atmospheric quality, with subtle reflections across the calm water. The unsigned work is presented in a silvered grey wood frame with a wide blue-grey mat. Minor damage is visible at the lower-left frame corner, with light wear consistent with age. One of a kind.
